Jessica Grady – Decorative Hand Embroidered Embellished Hoop – 12.45

Join artist Jessica Grady as she introduces you to simple hand embroidery stitches and embellishment ideas with beads and sequins for creating your own textile hoop. This class is suitable for all abilities with no previous experience of embroidery necessary. You will leave the class with your unique textile artwork framed up in the mini embroidery hoop.

Katharine Wright – Rope Bowls – 13.00

Learn how to make a beautiful rope bowl on your sewing machine – they are a fabulous way of using up your left over fabric. Once you know how, you can make them in lots of different sizes for a myriad of uses: bread basket, sweetie dish or even to hold all your cotton reels or latest knitting project?

Ruth Parkinson-Johns – Festival Lanterns – 10.30

Work with free-motion embroidery to trap layers of fibres, fabric and threads to create a beautiful Seaside or Garden inspired Lantern Wrap illuminated with LED Fairy Lights.

NOTE: All materials are provided for this workshop, including a glass container and LED Fairy lights, but you are welcome to bring your own glass jar/candle holder to upcycle, if you would prefer.

Hannah Harrison – Pyrography Garden Sign – 13.00

Pyrography means ‘writing with fire’ and it is the decorative art of burning a design into wood using a wood burning hot tool. You will be given lots of hints and tips as well as the use of templates so that you can create a super garden sign to take home.

Katharine Wright – Glass Fushion Seashore Suncatcher – 11.30

In this workshop you will make a beautiful Suncatcher to hang in your window or garden. You will be taught how to cut your glass to create your design and shown how to put it together, ready to be fired.

Please note: Your glass fusion will be taken away at the end of the class to be fired in a glass kiln and returned to you by post. Price incudes firing and P&P.

While every precaution will be taken to ensure your piece comes back to you safely, firing is a process that can have unexpected outcomes and we cannot be held responsible should your piece crack during the process.

Naim Roseby – Anodized Aluminium Pendant – 10.15

Make your own brightly coloured aluminium pendant. You will learn how to saw and prepare the metal, then taught the techniques for drawing and ink stamping your designs. After completing your design you will set the colours into the metal so the design is permanent (this takes an hour and a half). You can collect your designs from the Leicestershire Craft Centre stand before you go home. You will cut one pendant yourself and have a further two to decorate. Suitable for 10 years and over.

Sally Boehme – Wire Knitted Beaded Pendant – 11.30

Using enamelled copper wire and a selection of sparkly glass beads, you will create a pretty knitted wire pendant on this one-hour workshop. Strung on a matching ribbon necklace you will be able to wear your creation on your way home!
