Join Caroline to hand embroider a pretty fabric drawstring bag using the traditional Japanese technique of sashiko embroidery. (Colour ways and patterns dependant upon availability.) Learn about the different options for embroidery threads, the best mark makers to use and the symbolism behind some of the patterns used in sashiko. Hear some of Caroline’s stories from living in Japan and learning from skilled craftspeople. Go home with a unique item for yourself or to hold a gift for a loved one. Each kit also includes one of Caroline’s own sashiko stencils that you can use again in your future sashiko projects.

Cookie Cutter Brooches

Each participant will make one character to take home, needle-felted onto felt for a sturdy finish. You’ll also keep your felting needle (for health and safety reasons) and receive a no-sew brooch pin so you can wear your creation straight away.

Lippan art is a centuries-old mud craft from India, traditionally used to decorate the walls of mud huts. Artisans create intricate patterns using raised clay lines and small mirrors, often depicting village life and geometric motifs. The designs were typically painted white to reflect heat and help keep homes cool, while the mirrors were believed to ward off the evil eye.

In this workshop, you’ll create your own detailed clay and mirror design using a frame, clay, stencils and a selection of mirror shapes. Choose from a variety of frame styles and explore a wide range of mirror designs to personalise your piece.

Chicken Scratch Sampler Card

Have a go at the charming and traditional craft of chicken scratch embroidery in this relaxing make-and-take activity. Using cheerful gingham fabric as your base, you’ll learn how a few simple stitches can transform the grid of the fabric into beautiful lace-like patterns.

You’ll be guided step-by-step to create a small stitched sampler, which you can mount into a lovely card to take home. It’s a gentle, mindful project that’s perfect for beginners as well as experienced stitchers who want to try something a little different.

Macramé is always one of my most popular make-and-take crafts, and I’m bringing another new make – beautiful macrame feathers!

These stunning textured pieces make gorgeous wall hanging decorations.

You’ll learn a few key macramé knots and techniques, and I’ll guide you step-by-step to create your own finished piece to take home. There will be a lovely range of colours to choose from, beads for embellishments and rustic pieces of wood to attach so you can make something perfectly suited to your style.

Enjoy the soothing rhythm of hand embroidery as you create a flower inspired stitched doodle onto hand dyed fabric.
