Jenny’s workshop will give you the opportunity to learn how to layer a quilt sandwich, learn different quilting techniques including all the different effects you can make from straight line quilting and free-motion quilting as well as Jenny’s favourite binding techniques. Using fat quarter sized quilt sandwiches Jenny will teach you how to get the best results in quilting using a domestic machine, walking foot and free motion foot. This workshop will help give you the confidence to get your quilts finished! Jenny is a regular designer and demonstrator on Sewing Street TV.

Jen will bring a selection of colours for you to create your own 30cm square panel, ideal for turning into a cushion pad. You’ll set up a temporary loom, choose your colours and weave your design onto backing fabric. Next you’ll stitch your design, creating a panel you can use to make a cushion cover or bag. The same technique can be used at home to create scarves, cushions, even panels for garments.
All materials provided but please bring your own pins.

Join Mark Francis from the Great British Sewing Bee to perfect your Jetted and Welt pocket skills. These simple and beautiful pockets can be tricky to perfect but with this workshop all the mysteries will be removed. You will be working with Calico fabric and receive full instructions to take home and keep.
Advisory Note:
Intermediate skill level (comfortable using a sewing machine but looking to learn more)
Under 16’s to be accompanied by an adult as scissors and sewing machine will be used.
