Since launching ā€˜Living In Lovelinessā€™ 11 years ago, Kerrieā€™s passion for teaching and super-cute fabrics has blossomed and grown. With sewing classes and sewing retreats from beginners to the more advanced sewers, plus her fabulous range of sewing patterns.

WILDFLOWER FABRIC COLLAGE with Yvonne Pratt – Sunday 12.15pm

Learn how to machine embroider a wildflower fabric collage.

Yvonne will share tips and techniques on how to create your very own fabric art collage. Learn how to create your piece using, a ready hand painted base to work on, hand dyed fabrics, hand printed fabrics, voile netting fabric, ribbon and simplistic embroidery stitches, then lastly adding embellishments to pull the scenic fabric collage together.

During the workshop you will learn how to build your collage, then using the sewing machine to machine embroider your fabrics and wildflower design onto the prepared base. 

The workshop kit provided includes a handbook with full instructions to create your wildflower fabric collage, hand-painted base, fabrics, threads, ribbon, handmade buttons, needles and thimble.

This workshop is great for beginners or intermediate level sewers over the age of 16

Yvonne Pratt

Yvonne is a contemporary textile artist based in Norfolk, England. Having always been a creative person with a love for drawing and using texture to create art, it was not until later in life through taking on a BA(Hon) degree in Textiles Design and then, a Masters in contemporary craft practice that textiles became a passion.

Having had the privileged of working within education most of her adult life this has allowed Yvonneā€™s skills to be transferred to working as a freelance workshop teacher turning her hand to both hand and free-motion embroidery.

Yvonne is a truly passionate and highly motivated maker who loves to pass, on her knowledge and skills in hand crafted textiles

This workshop begins by sewing with dark thread just as Sarah does when stitching her embroideries. Colour can be included in your creation by your choice of cloth, by adding coloured thread later or by including a brightly coloured zip and zip-tab… depending on what you choose to make.

Please note if you decide to create a textile art piece, then the frame is not provided in the cost of this class.

She is a member of MAKE Southwest and has one of her environmentally friendly fashion accessories in The Museum of Design in Plastics. With huge experience of working with textiles, students enjoy the benefits of all the knowledge Sarah shares when she teaches.
