CG@20: Uncharted

‘Uncharted’ was chosen as the title for the CQ 20th Anniversary exhibition because it sums up the ethos of Contemporary Quilt. Members are very inventive in their quilt making, using all manner of materials and techniques. The ‘Uncharted’ quilts had to be 150-200cm long and 30cm wide at the top. This allows the quilts to be exhibited as banners, with both sides visible. An astonishing 77 quilts were submitted, and at The Creative Craft Show we will have 35 of them touring the country at each of our various venues. Their subjects range from explorations of land, sea and space, to historical documents and charts, the natural world and even dragons. Several quilts also represent personal stories, including recent challenges related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
