Tulip Mania by Hilary Beattie

Exuberant, colourful glorious harbingers of spring – Is there anyone who doesn’t like tulips? In the past they have caused wars and been sold for thousands. They can, and often have, become a complete obsession. They have nectar to sustain early feeders in our gardens and arrive in spring when we are so ready for their colour and beauty. So many of us just love them: in our gardens, and in vases in our homes. With this body of work Hilary has indulged herself in a visual celebration of these glorious flowers, exploring them in multiple ways and media.
