Maria Maidment of Old Maid New will be showcasing her work at Westpoint for the second year. A renowned textile conservator, fabric and goldwork specialist, and TV demonstrator, Maria will be sharing a live goldwork embroidery demo at her stand, and a daily workshop giving visitors the chance to see this intricate heritage technique up close and ask questions, also a chance to have a go yourself on the workshop. With over 30 years’ experience in the textile industry and a specialist in textile conservation (working with organisations including the National Trust, museums and private clients), Maria is passionate about keeping traditional skills alive through modern, accessible teaching.
