1.30pm 3-Hour workshop – cost £59.00
Join John in this class to make a stunning Bargello pieced quilt that you will enjoy for years.
At first glance this quilt looks quite intimidating, but with a special pre-class Zoom before the workshop day, you will have all the requirements to start creating the Bargello effect in the class.
When you arrive in class you will receive four different Bargello quilt patterns to take away with you, worth £14.50 each, one of which you will choose to piece together in the class.
During this half-day session, you should become confident on how to make the Bargello, piecing between ten to fifteen rows together ready to continue at home.
Additional pre-workshop Zoom:
There is an additional 60-minute Zoom session with John, before the workshop session, to ensure that you are fully prepared and to cover any queries that may have about the class. This is not essential, but you will get the most out of the class if you are able to do so.
The Zoom takes place ideally two weeks ahead of the class, where John will help you chose your fabric colourways and guide you on how to stitch your fabric strips together prior to the class. Doing this will ensure that you have more time during the class to create the actual Bargello design.
Under John’s guidance you will:
• Receive step-by-step guidance on colour choice
• Tips on how to check the contrast/values of the chosen fabric colours and how you place them
• Tips on stitching the strips together
• How to piece the strips to create the Bargello effect
• A Zoom after the fact as a show and tell two weeks after the class to answer any questions and do a show and tell of your work.
Half-day Academy Masterclass tickets also include:
A complimentary entry ticket for you to visit the main shows on Saturday morning, an extra Zoom session, plus all equipment and consumables, as described.
Advisory Note:
This class is a confident beginner’s class, suitable for all ages 16+ with some basic sewing knowledge or use of sewing machines advisable.
Please note that workshops are non-refundable
